Peter writes this letter “to stimulate wholesome thinking” (2 Peter 3:1 NIV). He uses the Greek word eilikrines, which means ‘sincere, pure, wholesome, flawless.’ The literal translation is ‘sun-tested’ or ‘sun-tested’ – it refers to holding a piece of pottery up to the sun to reveal cracks, flaws, and hidden defects. Wholesome thinking produces wholesome faith. But how do we acquire it? Peter reminds us that God “has given us everything we need for a godly life” (2 Peter 1:3 NIV). Come join us.
