Moms of Teens - Parenting During Tough Times

Description

This group is specifically for mothers of teenagers who could use support and encouragement in a difficult phase of parenting due to their teen's behavior, choices, or other reasons. The goal of this group is to let each of us know that we aren't alone in our fears and concerns about our children, and to help us feel hope and perspective. We will read the daily devotional, "A Moment's Peace for Parents of Teens: 365 Rejuvenating Reflections" by Patricia Hooliman. When we meet, we will discuss what encouraged us through the reading, as well as sharing whatever each person chooses to share about their own life as a mom. If you have a teen struggling, then your life is likely busy, chaotic, and stressful, so fitting in time for a group is hard. Thus, meetings are planned via Zoom, but if the group decides additional in-person meetings would be helpful on occasion at a different time, we can plan a time to meet in the White Bear/Mahtomedi area. From the book - October 8 reading: “...we all need others to help lift us up...Sometimes parenting can feel particularly lonely, and in those moments it's best to seek someone out." If this resonates with you, I'd love to connect with you in the group! About me: My husband and I have a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old (junior and senior in high school). Life is busy with everything "high school" as well as post-high school planning - plus balancing our own individual lives and our marriage. NOTE: We will not meet on 10/20 and 11/24.
