Description
This group is a safe and supportive space for mothers of children struggling with substance use disorder (SUD). It is a place where moms can share their stories honestly and vulnerably within a caring Christian community—and be with other mothers who understand the unique pain, grief, uncertainty, and hope that come with loving a child through substance use disorder.
My hope is that through this group, you will experience both hope and healing, while discovering that you do not have to walk this road alone. Each week, we will spend time together reading and reflecting on Scripture, participating in meaningful group discussion, and learning practical practices that can support our own health, healing, and well-being. I will share practices and resources that I have found helpful, and there will also be opportunities for participants to share what has helped them along the way. This is not a place where we expect to find all the answers or learn how to control the outcome. Rather, it is a place to learn how to faithfully walk through circumstances we cannot control—to grieve what has been lost, care for ourselves, remain grounded in our faith, and find hope in the midst of uncertainty. Most importantly, this is a place to be in Christian community with other moms who understand.
We will meet weekly via Zoom. At the conclusion of the group, we will also have the opportunity to gather in person for those who would like to participate. You are welcome here—with your questions, your grief, your hope, and your story.
